Safire Hikari

Dancer

Safire Hikari is a dancer and circus performer with over ten years of professional experience. They also are a sought after teacher of various movement forms and theatre throughout Europe. 

They studied circus, dance and performance in Greentop in Sheffield, UK, and acrobatics in Polinchinelo Acrobatic School in Liverpool UK. 

They studied contemporary dance at Balletto de Leece in Italy, contemporary dance and theatre at Companhia Olga Roriz (FOR Dance Theatre) as well as contact improvisation and vertical dance in Lisbon, Portugal and Rustrel France.

Safire teaches in diverse groups around Europe. Including aerial and dance in the Irish Aerial Creation Centre in Limerick Ireland, aerial dance in The Circus Project in Brighton physical theatre and dance at Griese Youth Theatre in Kildare Ireland and inclusive dance at Ajuda in Lisbon.

They developed an original duo performance combining vertical and contemporary dance, and presented the work at Fringe Festival Dublin 2024. Winner of IACC ten year anniversary award. 

Safire is part of an acrobatic dance theatre collective ‘Allyon-Nous’ which is a group with diverse nationalities, ages and identities. The collective’s focus is on gender and identity.

They have performed with diverse groups Including: Urban Angels, Fidget Feet, Off The Rails, High Top Circus, B-Collective, Aeritiko, Jazzy Dance Studios, Companhia de Chapitô, Trincheira Teatro, Marionet, Musici, Magma Banda and Cirque Normandie.

Safire is interested in developing ambitious, powerful performances that share the magic of the art with wide and diverse audiences.
