Chamber music collective Musici Ireland have made a name for themselves in Ireland and further afield for sharing stories of the country and its history, with an inspiring blend of artistry and social activism. This daytime concert is a celebration of the group’s upcoming debut album, which features chamber works by six living Irish composers.

Displaying the ensemble’s versatility, their programme encompasses everything from meditation and glimpses of the natural world to moments of heightened drama. It ends with the Dublin premiere of Earthrise – a new concerto for viola and chamber ensemble by Wexford-based Liam Bates – alongside a presentation from the composer and soloist Beth McNinch about the commission, how it came about and the process of writing such a significant new work.
